About Me

Being the third generation of a family of vendors, it was only natural for me to gravitate toward vending as a career.

While most kids grew up watching television, I spent Saturdays, school breaks, and summers going to work with my Father, Nelson Sweeney, owner of Sweeney Vending Service, one of the largest vending companies in the New York area. Like my Dad, I had a natural interest in how things work, what makes them “tick” and how to make them better. By age ten, I was already performing refrigeration repairs as well as refurbishing vending machines for the family business as well as other local vendors.

After high school, I attended factory service schools as well as refrigeration and electronic schools throughout the United States, while honing my skills as a vending mechanic.

In 1980, my Dad and I opened “Vendors Sales and Repair” where we quickly became the largest vending refurbishing plant on the east coast.  As well as running the day-to-day operations of “Vendors”, I was also teaching a New York State sponsored vending mechanic training program.

When illness necessitated my father's retirement, I decided to start my own repair business sensing a need for on-location repairs to local vendors.
